Kathy Ann Deakins

Kathy Ann Deakins, 74, passed away on April 15, 2026. She was a lifelong resident of Kingsport and a cherished member of her community.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Sam Harkleroad and Sue Holloway; and her granddaughter, Megan Bellamy.

Kathy is survived by her devoted husband of 50 years, James Deakins; her children, Amanda Bellamy, Jamie (Andy) Benton, and Derek (Lisa) Deakins; her seven beloved grandchildren, Dalton (Grace) Bellamy, Kendall Bellamy, Piper Benton, Porter Benton, Poppy Benton, Paladin Benton and Kirby Deakins; and her sister, Teresa Rock of Kingsport.

Kathy dedicated more than five decades of her life to her profession as a business owner and a cosmetology instructor. She owned and operated The Kingsport Beauty School and Rich’s Family Haircutters. Throughout her career, she influenced, inspired many, and formed enduring friendships.

The family will receive friends on Monday, April 20, 2026 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m., in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Steve Pate officiating.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Pleasant Grove Church in Limestone. Pallbearers will be her family members.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
