Kelly Patton Bailey

Kelly Patton Bailey, age 63, passed away on February 9, 2026. He was born and raised in Kingsport, Tennessee, a place he proudly called home throughout his life.

Kelly was a great man and a fantastic father, whose life was defined by love, loyalty, and quiet strength. He had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and found joy and peace in hunting and fishing—places where he felt most at home and most himself. He also had a deep love for the Tennessee Volunteers, always cheering them on and proudly showing his Volunteer spirit. He also attended and graduated with an associate’s degree from Northeast State Community College.

He is survived by his son, Chase Bailey, and his wife Brooke, and his beloved granddaughter Myiah; his forever love, Kelly Jo Bailey; his sisters, Patti Fleming and her husband Jeremy, and Rhonda Maupin; his brother, Dwight Bailey; his aunt, Barbara Trent; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins who loved him dearly. Also, his special and loyal companion, Jake.

Kelly was preceded in death by his father, George Bailey, and his mother, Betty Bailey.

Visitation will be held on February 13th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with services immediately following at 7:00 p.m., at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.

Those who knew Kelly will remember his steady presence, his love for family, and the simple joys that meant the most to him. His legacy of love and devotion will live on through all who were blessed to know him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
