Kenneth Charles Lucas

Ken Lucas, age 63, of Kingsport, has gone home to be with the Lord, joining those of his loving family who went before him. Born in Cleveland, Ohio on March 22, 1963, son of the late Archie and Daisy Lucas, he has resided in the Tri-Cities area most of his life. He graduated from Cherokee High School in 1981 and joined the U.S. Army where he served in the 82nd Airborne Division, achieving the rank of Sergeant. During his service, he earned his Parachute Badge, Sharpshooter Badge M-16, Sharpshooter Badge Hand Grenade, and the Army Good Conduct Medal. After completing his service, he worked at Hawkins County gas utility until leaving for Atmos Energy where he served for 36 years until his retirement in 2024. During his time with Atmos, he attended Northeast State and Tusculum University where he earned his business degree.

Affectionately known as Kenny by his family, he was a gifted guitar player, sports lover and avid golfer. He was the best husband to his wife Rebecca, whom he married in 2021 and enjoyed some wonderful travel experiences with. They worshiped together at Grace Fellowship Church in Kingsport.

Ken was a deeply devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who loved his family and above all else, the Lord with all of his heart. He was happiest being surrounded by his family or playing 18 holes on a beautiful day. He found great comfort praising Jesus and loved singing worship music around the house or playing his favorite classic rock and country songs on YouTube.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Sonny Lucas, Dallas Lucas and Nello Woodall.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Rebecca Lucas; children, Nick Morris, LeeLee Williams, Caleb and Brynne Lucas; step-children, Wyatt and Morgan Fulbright; grandchildren, Hezekiah, Urijah, Aliyah, Mayzie Morris, Maya and Marlee Williams, and Colton Lucas; siblings, Nellie Nix, Gloria Free, Kathy Taylor, Trisha Elkins, Susie Poole and David Lucas; and several nieces and nephews.
