Kenneth Paul Trzil, 67, born in Pittsburgh, PA and resided in Jonesborough, TN met his Savior on August 8th after a fierce battle with melanoma.
He was surrounded by his loving wife of 32 years, Sheri, and his two sons, Zachary and Jonathan.
Ken was a devoted husband, a loving father, and was blessed with two grandchildren who brought him immeasurable joy. A board-certified physician for 37 years, he served as a Doctor and Director of the Emergency Department at both Morristown-Hamblen and Unicoi County Hospital before later working in addiction recovery care. He was also an Assistant Professor at Lincoln Memorial University, where he mentored the next generation of medical professionals.
Outside of medicine, he poured his energy into projects on his farm—planting a fruit and nut orchard, operating his bulldozers, collecting rocks, gems, and coins, and playing with his dogs.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harry Trzil, and his mother, Mary Trzil. He is survived by his wife, Sheri Trzil; sons Zachary Trzil and wife Samantha, and Jonathan Trzil and wife Hannah; grandchildren Boaz and Luna; his brother, Paul Trzil and wife Jean; along with many nieces and nephews.
Ken’s love for his family and his passion for his work will be dearly missed.
The family will receive friends from 11:00am to 12:00pm Tuesday August 12th, 2025 at Cedar Creek Baptist Church 262 Cedar Creek Rd. Johnson City, TN 37615. A funeral service will follow at 12pm with Pastor Robert Fultz officiating.
Burial will follow at Hamlett-Dobson Memorial Park, in the Garden of Solomon. Military graveside rites will be presented by the American Legion Post 3/265 and the Virginia National Guard.
