Larry James Leonard

Larry James Leonard, 87, passed away June 7, 2026 at home. Larry was born in Scott County, VA on September 17, 1938, the son of the late Washington Conley Leonard and Bernice Larkey Jennings. He graduated from Hiltons High School and served in the Virginia National Guard. Larry worked at Raytheon and Eastman Kodak where he retired. He attended Double Springs Baptist Church. Larry was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Gerald, Maurice, and Ray Leonard; sisters, Helen Shaffer, Pauline Shaffer, and Dorris Pearman.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Joyce Leonard; sons, Greg and wife, Shirley, Jody and wife, Kim; grandchildren, Benjamin, Kelsey, Garrett and Tanner Leonard, Nicholas, Lucas and Ivy Carter, Sydney Moore (Austin); and sister-in-law, Wanda Cox.

There will be no service at this time, but a memorial service will be held at a later date.
