Launa C. Pierson

Launa C. Pierson, 93, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center following a brief illness. Born in Kingsport, she had resided in the Kingsport area most of her life. She was formerly employed by the Upper East TN Human Development Agency and a member of Holy Mountain Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, H. Paul Pierson; parents, John and Elizabeth Eads; infant son, Phillip Pierson; grandson, Jared Fagert; and infant great-granddaughter, Mattie Godsey.

Launa is survived by daughters, Kathy Barrett, Nancy Ward and husband Denny, all of Kingsport, and Susie Wells and husband, Steve, of Hiltons, VA; sons, Bryan Pierson and Bruce Pierson, both of Kingsport; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1-2:00 pm at Hamlett-Dobson, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm with Pastor Jerry Musick officiating.

Burial will follow the funeral service at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
