Linda Jane Venable Chase

Linda Jane Venable Chase of 2317 Hiwassee Street, Kingsport, went to be with the Lord Saturday, January 20, 2007 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Kingsport, Linda grew up in Scott County, VA and graduated from Gate City High School in 1966. She had resided in various parts of the country before returning to Kingsport, where she had lived for the past 16 years.

She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and enjoyed working in her flowers and yard. She had retired from Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center due to her health.

Her father, Ralph Venable and infant sister, Carolyn Venable preceded her in death.

Surviving are her husband, Jerry L. Chase; two daughters, Christi Vaughn and husband, Eric; and Whitney L. Chase; stepson, Kevin Chase, all of Kingsport; three grandchildren, Hannah Vaughn, Caleb Vaughn, and Delaney Chase; her mother, Marie Quillen Venable, Gate City, VA; three brothers, Richard Venable and wife, Phyllis, Kingsport; Jerry B. Venable and wife, Lana, Weber City, VA; and Ron H. Venable and wife, Glenda, Kingsport; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.

Services will follow at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor David Salley officiating.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Holston View Cemetery. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery at 10:45 a.m.
