Linda Kay Gibson

1939-2026 

Linda Kay Gibson (neé Alison) of Kingsport, TN passed away on April 27, 2026. Born June 19, 1939, Linda was the beloved wife of Charles; devoted mother of Drew and Casey (Yasmin) and loving “Gran” to grandsons Shawn and Jacob.

A Kingsport native, Linda graduated from Dobyns-Bennett High School and went on to work at the Kingsport Chamber of Commerce and American Saint Gobain before meeting her husband Charles. With the birth of sons Andrew (Drew) in 1966 and Casey in 1968, the family moved from Boone Lake to Colonial Heights where Linda devoted herself to motherhood and community service, while Charles built a career as Director of Human Services at Eastman Chemical Company. Though she embodied the role of an elegant and charming executive’s wife, Linda was at heart a fun loving and high energy lady who lived for her boys. Rain or shine, whether driving a ski boat on the lake, organizing pre-game meals or banging on a cowbell in the football stands, Linda was always their biggest fan. She later shared the same loving energy with her grandsons—the next generation of boys.

Linda was a beauty with an open heart who truly never met a stranger. She had a great sense of style and an infectious laugh. She will be missed by family and friends, but most of all by her boys.

The family will receive friends, Saturday, May 16, 2026 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. David Randolph officiating.

Graveside service will be conducted on Monday, May 18, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. at Monte Vista Memorial Park.
