Lucile Danielson Hincke passed to heaven on February 3, 2026. She was born on October 26, 1928 in Fontana, NC to the late Ernest E. “Jake” and Lila Hester Russell Danielson. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Helena, Jeannette Crabtree, Margaret Evans and Louise Kelly; and brother, James E. “Buddy” Danielson; and her ex-husband, William George Hincke.
She is survived by her sons, William Edward Hincke and wife, Robin of Kingsport, and Richard James Hincke and wife, Marla of Murphy, NC; seven grandchildren, Jason (Catherine), Justin (Mary) and Jacqui Hincke, Ericka, Addison Robinson (CJ), Jake (Riley), and Zane Hincke; six great-grandchildren, Annaliese, Anderson, Adler, Julia and Justus Hincke, and Josie Robinson; and she is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
She came to Kingsport in 1937 and lived most of her life here. She retired from Heritage Federal S & L Association in 1988. She was a graduate of DBHS, class of 1947.
She was an active member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church where she sang in the choir for 50+ years. She also served one 3-year term on the vestry.
After retirement, she learned to play the dulcimer and belonged to two playing ensembles, the Renaissance Strings and the Bays Mountain Laurel. She did a lot of volunteer playing and singing at Assisted Living establishments and nursing homes. She derived much pleasure and joy from these activities.
We would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to a special caregiver, Pat Wolfe, who lovingly cared for her in the last months at her home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Asbury Place Baysmont, 100 Netherland Lane, Kingsport, TN 37660, where she spent her last several months.
The family will receive friends on Friday, February 13, 2026 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, February 14, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church with Father Johnny Tuttle officiating.
Graveside service will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Jason, Justin, Jake, Zane Hincke and CJ Robinson.
