Lucille Brinkley Moore of Gray was reunited with her husband, John “Carl” Moore, in heaven on April 14, 2025, following a brief illness. Born in Mitchell County, NC in 1935, to Dallas and Pauline Harrell Brinkley, Lucille lived most of her life in Washington County, TN. She graduated from Science Hill High School and was employed for many years by the Johnson City Power Board. Lucille dearly loved her Lord, her family and her church family at McKinnley Memorial Bible Church.
In addition to her husband and parents, Lucille was preceded in death by her brother, John Brinkley.
Survivors include her brother, Bill Brinkley; sisters-in-law, Shirlee Brinkley and Brenda Brinkley; and several nephews and nieces. Lucille had many friends who will miss her friendship and laughter, including special sisters-in-law, Marge Moore, Lucy Moore and Nancy Brinkley; and cousins, Mary Lee Smith and Joan Reichert.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. on Friday, April 18, 2025, in the Chapel of Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home in Blountville, Tennessee. The funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. officiated by Pastor Lenny Smith. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum of Peace.
Pallbearers will be John Brinkley Jr., James Brinkley, Rodney Hurley, Todd Street, Bill Brinkley Jr., Ben Brinkley, Fred Reichert, Jr., Charles Cash, Carl Shearin, Tommy King, Kenneth King and Fred Reichert Sr.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or McKinnley Memorial Bible Church, Johnson City.
