Margie May Perry

Margie May Perry, of Kingsport, gained her wings on Thursday, April 16, 2026, passing peacefully while surrounded by her loving family.

Margie was born on June 28, 1941, in Copper Hill, Tennessee. One of six siblings, she dedicated her life to caring for others. She was a devoted homemaker who found her greatest joy in raising her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She loved spending time with her family, yardsaling, and listening to and singing her favorite gospel and country songs. Margie was a faithful member of Bible Way Church of Bloomingdale, where she attended as long as her health allowed. She will be deeply cherished and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, Bessie and Tom Shell, she was preceded in death by the love of her life, Terry “Monk” Marshall; her daughters, Cindy Linebaugh and Sherry Linebaugh; her sister, Lucille Shell; and her brothers, Olen Shell, Frank Shell, and Leo Shell; and many friends and family from her cherished life on Overlook Rd.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Lisa Clark Shaffer and Liz White (Steve); her son, Tommy Linebaugh; and her grandchildren, Melissa Nowlin, Kristy Nowlin, Jamie Linebaugh, Chasity Farmer, Amber Frazier, Timothy Romine, Steven Romine, Wendy Nowlin, Josh Shaffer, Justin Shaffer, Connor White, Casey White, Beth White, Sydni Shaffer, Matthew White, Michelle White, and Ryan White. She is also survived by special great-granddaughter, Madison Littrell and many great-grandchildren; her sister, Loretta Shell; her sister and best friend, Debra Farmer; and her special fur buddy who loved to visit, Gizzy.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 20, 2026, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home in Kingsport. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m., with Bro. Johnny Gibson officiating, followed by loving words and a prayer by Brad Shaffer.

Graveside services will follow at Old Kingsport Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be her special grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Josh Shaffer, Justin Shaffer, Brayden Horne, Jayden Linebaugh, Connor White, and Jordan Frazier.
