Margie Light Ramey

Margie Light Ramey, 84, of Rogersville, Bays Mountain Community, was called home early Thursday morning, April 17, 2025, following a brief illness. Born in Hawkins County, Margie had resided here her entire life. She was a member of Cedar Chapel F.W. B. Church.

Margie was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Ramey in 2008; sisters, Bertha Goad, Nellie Smith, Joyce Light, Geneva Light, Clara Dykes, Kathleen Simpson; brothers, Chester, Reece, Rosevelt and Garfield Light.

Survivors include son, J. W. Ramey and wife, C.J.; grandchildren, Jamie, Sammy, Haylee, Kayle, Cody and Brian; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends Monday, April 21, 2025 from 5:00 – 7:00pm at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home Kingsport. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00pm in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Bobby Bernard officiating.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at 1:00pm at Bowser Cemetery in Rogersville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Cedar Chapel F.W.B. Church, Rogersville.
