Marie Strickler Irvin

December 4, 1935 - August 28, 2023

Marie Strickler Irvin passed away in her sleep on August 28, 2023, in Marshall, NC. Marie loved God first, her family, traveling, and entertaining others. She was a proud cheerleader at Sullivan High School. Marie loved dancing, flowers, oil painting, and birds.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jake Irvin; and grandson, Alex Fine.

Marie is survived by her daughters, Constance "Connie" Bullis, Janet "Gigi" Irvin Freeman, Judy Hester and Chris Lawson; eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and sister, Betty Ruth Applegate.

The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, September 3, 2023, at Kingsport Seventh Day Adventist Church. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Matt Hallam officiating.

Burial will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Jerod Freeman, John Freeman, Stephanie Fine, Charles “Zipper” Hester, Jason Hester, Rachel Lawson, and Charlie Anderson.
