Marie Merrill

Marie Merrill, 97, of Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord early Wednesday morning, December 10, 2025. She was born and raised in Stanley Valley and moved to Mt. Carmel in 1956 then Kingsport in 1979. She was a member of Liberty Hill Evangelical Church. Marie was a faithful Christian who taught her children and grandchildren to love the Lord. Marie loved to weave baskets and in her later years she loved to ride down by Stanley Valley and Robinette Valley.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Earl Jenkins, Don Linkous, and Dr. H.R. Merrill; and son, Reece Jenkins.

Marie is survived by her children, Wanda McClellan and Chuck, Donna Linkous; and Tina Linkous; stepson, Dr. David Merrill (Kathy), grandchildren, Jeff Jenkins, Chris Jenkins (Jeanna), Kellie Dawson (Robert), Dr. Chad McClellan (Jennifer), and Joe McClellan (Sharon); twelve great-grandchildren; and three great great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, December 12, 2025, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. with Dr. Terry Hommel officiating.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Church Hill Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
