Marjorie Hicks

Majorie “Tootsie” Hicks was born on July 4th, 1938 in Sullivan County, TN, and she passed on August 14th, 2024. Tootsie was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Tootsie enjoyed spending time with her family. In the summer you could find her fishing with her son Dale and grandson Jason. She had a passion for cooking and watching a good meal bring people together. Tootsie also loved to read. If she wasn’t spending time with her family, or making a delicious meal, then you could most likely find her enjoying the stories of a good book. The love of her family will forever be remembered. 

She is preceded in death by her husband, Fred Hicks; parents, Lewis and Kate Davis; brothers, Odis and Garland Davis. 

Her memory is survived by her son, Dale and wife, Teresa Light; grandchildren, Betsy Dye, Jason Light, Andy and Laura Light, Christy Light; great-grandchildren, Cody and Christian Dye, Jessie and Logan Light, Bryson and Braylen Light. 

Visitation will be held at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Fall Branch at 6:00 pm on Thursday, August 22, 2024, with Pastor Harold Morelock officiating.
