Mark "Freddie" Green

Mark “Freddie” Green, 51, of Kingsport passed away Friday, August 9, 2024 surrounded by his friends and family. Born on September 1, 1972, he was a lifelong resident of Kingsport. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and was deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan. Freddie had a fun-loving spirit and enjoyed giving his friends and family nicknames. He was a craftsman and loved working with his hands on various projects. Freddie was known as a proud Veteran, father, husband, brother, nephew and friend to many.

Freddie was preceded in death by his parents, William (Blue) Green and Victoria Manis Green; friend, Shannon “Buck” Williams; and several buddies lost in battle.

Survivors include his wife, Rita Green; daughter, Autumn Green; sister, Lisa Kay Gilliam; brother, Stephen Sanders; uncle, Herman Lee Manis; grandson, Colton Peters; niece, Kaylee Bishop and husband, Derek; nephew, Adam Gilliam; great nieces and nephews, Scout, Walker, Lane, Zoelia and Zaylen; friends, April Hartsock, Vicki Hubbard and Rachael Ketron.

The family will receive friends on Monday, August 19, 2024 from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Military honors will be provided by American Legion Post 3/265 prior to the visitation, at 1:30 p.m.
