Mark Alan Nester

Mark Nester, 64, of Blountville, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 4, 2026 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Mark was a life long resident of Sullivan County and graduate of Sullivan Central High School, class of 1980. He was a member of Colonial Heights Christian Church. Mark had worked as a culinary trainer for Food City. He used those skills to lead the kitchen ministry at his church.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Delmar and Betty Nester.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Cathy Nester; daughters, Laura Miller and husband, Jeff, and Megan Osborne and husband, Nathan; fourteen grandchildren; brother, Jeff Nester and wife, Penny; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Monday, June 8th from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at Colonial Heights Christian Church. Funeral services will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. with David Mullins, Minister officiating.

A private burial will be held at Hamlett-Dobson Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Jeremiah Mitchell, Brayden Ferguson, Colt Norman, Jeff Miller, Nathan Osborne and Chris Watson.
