Mary E. Cox
Mary Cox, 89, Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 9, 2011 at Brookhaven Manor.
She was a lifelong resident of Sullivan County and a member of Midfield Freewill Baptist Church.
Preceding her in death were her husband, James Earl Cox; two daughters, Wanda Marshall and Carolyn Sherfey; one grandson; her parents; four brothers and four sisters.
Mary is survived by two sons, Earl Wayne Cox and wife Marie of Kingsport and Keener Cox of Bristol, TN; twelve grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Services will follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Jesse Hartgrove and Rev. Charley Jarrett officiating.
The graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday at Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Donald Sherfey, Darrell Sherfey, Daniel Sherfey, David Sherfey, Casey Byington, and Dennis Marshall.
