Mary Elaine Hawkins

Mary Elaine “Babydoll” Hawkins, 74, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Monday, December 12, 2022 after an extended illness.

Elaine was of the Baptist faith and was preceded in death by her parents, W.E. and Lucille McClanahan.

Elaine was born and raised in Sequatchie, TN and moved to the Tri-Cities area in 1980 where she was an active member and president of Red Cross School Clinic and PTA. Elaine’s home was always open to everyone and she never met a stranger.

Elaine is survived by her loving husband, Mark Hawkins, of the home, as well as her constant companions, Pixie and Oreo; daughters, Lucynda (Steve) Taylor of Rogersville, Laura Cody of Jonesborough; son, W.F. (Becca) Barnett of Mosquite, TX; grandchildren, Alyssa Stewart, Skyla Cody, Taylor Cockrell and Trevor Smith; great-grandchildren, MaLaya, Dakota, Isley, Emma and Indie; brother, W.F. McClanahan; sister, Lynda Smith.

The family would like to give special thanks to friend, companion and caregiver, Lisa Lane and the staff of Holston Valley Medical Center.
