Mary Kathleen "Kat" Vaughn Brewer

Mary Kathleen Vaughn Brewer, 92, of Kingsport passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 surrounded by her family. Born September 5, 1933 a daughter of the late Claude and Venus Vaughn, growing up in Borden Mill Village. She was of the Baptist faith and accepted Jesus Christ at an early age. Fondly called the Colonel but was Momaw to everyone.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Fred Brewer; sisters, Lucille “Delbert” Crawford, Virginia Gott and husband, Karl; brothers, Ralph Vaughn and wife, Mildred, Hack Vaughn and first wife, Delores and second wife, June; a nephew and two nieces.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Fredia Brewer Odham; the joy of her life, her triplet grandchildren, John, Jill, and Beth; her beloved dog, Leo; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday, January 2, 2026 from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Graveside services will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Oak Hill Memorial Park with Brother Sam Haynes officiating. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
