Sue Owens, 69, Kingsport, passed away Saturday, September 20, 2008 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center following a brief illness.
She was a lifelong resident of Kingsport and longtime volunteer for Fun Fest. Sue was a graduate of Sullivan High School and Lees-McRae College. She was a former employee of Dobyns-Taylor Hardware and H & R Block.
Her husband, Dewey Lee Owens; and parents, James and Elizabeth Owens preceded her in death.
She is survived by two stepdaughters, Kimberly Goad, Kingsport and Julie Craig, Fayetteville, NC; one stepson, David Owens, Nashville; one sister, Frances McConnell and husband Wes, Kingsport; two brothers, Wayne Owens and wife Bettye, Ross Owens and wife Penny, all of Chattanooga; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Services will follow at 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Rae Mullins officiating.
Private graveside services will be held at East Lawn Memorial Park.
