Mary Bass Quillen
Mary Bass Quillen of Kingsport went to be with the Lord Saturday, December 05, 2009 at Wellmont Holston Valley Hospital following a brief illness.
She was born in Surgoinsville and had resided in Kingsport most of her life.
Mrs. Quillen was a beautician and also a member of Victory Baptist Church where she was a member of the Ladies Sunday School Class and the Ladies Fellowship.
Mrs. Quillen was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Lyons Bass and Bessie Sandidge Bass; her husband, James Jim C. Quillen; sister, Flora Bass Sneed; brother-in-law, Carl Sneed; and brother, John H. Bass.
Mrs. Quillen is survived by her niece, Martha Burnette and husband Bill, Church Hill; nephew, Rodney Bass, Surgoinsville; great-nephew, Travis Burnette and wife Dee Dee, Knoxville; great-niece, Mandy Burnette, Vero Beach, FL; sister-in-law, Clora Bass of Surgoinsville; and several other nieces, nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be from 12 noon to 1:30pm Monday at Hamlett-Dobson. Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:30pm Monday in the Hamlett-Dobson Chapel, downtown with Pastor Larry C. Morelock officiating. Burial will follow at the Highland Cemetery in Rogersville, TN.
