Mary Katheryn (Wagner) Sanders

Mary Katheryn (Wagner) Sanders, age 94, of Blountville, Tennessee, passed away on July 26, 2025. She was the 10th child of ten children born to the late A.K. and Mary Katheryn Ireson Wagner. Mary Katheryn was born in the olston InstitutHoHolston Institute community and resided there her entire life. She attended Holston High School and Virginia Intermont. Mary’s life had no need for adventure; her joy came from cooking, sewing, family and home. She was a wonderful wife and mother. She was a member of Wheeler United Methodist Church and the Susannah Wesley Circle.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 71 years, Howard Lee Sanders; sister, Virginia Booher, 8 brothers, Keith, Harold, Billy, Donald, Joe, Gordon, Brooks and Ralph Wagner.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Dr. Sandra (Sandy) Sanders and her fur baby “Widdle”; special nephew and wife, Andy and Stephanie Sanders; and several other special nieces and nephews.

A graveside service, officiated by Rev. Chris Brown and Rev. Ginger Isom will be held at Hamlett-Dobson Memorial Park, Blountville, on Wednesday, July 30, at 1:00 p.m. in the Garden of Devotion. The family will receive friends following the graveside service.
