Michael Dwain Noel

Michael Dwain Noel, 70, of Fall Branch, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2022 at U.T. Medical Center following a brief illness. Born in Norton, VA on July 26, 1952, a son of the late Orbin and Kate Sluss Noel, he has resided in this area most of his life, living in Kingsport before moving to Fall Branch two  years ago. Dwain married Cathy Phillips on June 8, 1971 in Burnsville, NC, and he retired from AFG following 37 years of service. He was a member of Solomon’s Temple Church.  He will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, dad, papaw, brother and friend who loved to watch University of Tennessee football and playing softball for the Senior Citizens League in Johnson City.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Shirley Noel; sister, Geraldine “Jerry” Moore; brothers, Gene Noel and Ronnie Noel.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Cathy Noel; daughter, Regina Brannon and husband Keith of Kingsport; grandchildren, Austin and Tyler “Chelsey”; great grandchildren, Bentley and Tobias; sister, Lori Fannon and husband Duane of Charlotte, NC; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Roger Crawford, Andrew Pullion, John Payne and his dog, Roxie.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 - 12:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Graveside services will follow committal services at 12:30 p.m., Friday, November 18, 2022 in Depew’s Chapel U.M. Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
