Mildred Cain McCarten
Mildred Cain McCarten, 68, Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 25, 2009 at Greystone Health Care following a lengthy illness.
Mrs. McCarten was a lifelong resident of Kingsport and a member of Mt. Vernon Methodist Church.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Ken McCarten; and parents, Dolvin Cain and Reana Cassell.
She is survived by one son, Jessie Eremity, Sr. and wife Renẽ, Concord, NC; three grandchildren, Jessie Eremity, Jr., Anthony Eremity and Steven Eremity; two great-grandsons, Joey Eremity and Charles Eremity; stepmother, Marie Cain, Kingsport; sister, Rita Markland and husband Butler, Piney Flats; brother, Roy Alvin Cain and wife Mattie, Kingsport; one nephew, Robert A. Cain, Kingsport; one great-nephew, Austin Cain, Kingsport; and special friend, Marjorie Tootsie Hicks, Kingsport.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport. Services will follow at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Dr. Grady Lee officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Gunnings Cemetery. Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers
