Mildred "Toots" Zamarripa

Mildred “Toots” Zamarripa, 89, of Chuckey, went to rest with the Lord, Thursday evening, September 18, 2025, at her home. Mildred was born in Hawkins County and had lived in Greene County most of her life. Mildred had been a caregiver for many during her life. She loved to attend church when she was able to do so.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, Glynn and Mary Higgins; son, Edward “Big Ed” Moore; two sisters; and four brothers.

Survivors include her children, Wilma Sue Roberts, Ann (Johnny) Roberts, Barbara (Mike) Young, Bill Moore, Don (Helen) Moore, Tony Moore, “Sissy” (Roy) Roberts and Janet (Vernon) Johnson; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Lisa Moore; sisters, Rosie Steele and Betty (David) Maltsburger; brother, Elmer Higgins; sisters-in-law, Linda Higgins and Kathy Higgins; brother-in-law, Jackie Baines; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 21, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Fall Branch. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Dallas Moore officiating.

Graveside service will be held on Monday, September 22, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Salem Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Brian, Mark, Jared, Jacob, Kevin, Justin, Seth, Austin, Hunter, Charlie and Ryan.
