Nita Ann Dixon

Family was Nita’s pride and joy, and she was always there to take care of those who needed help. Nita was the primary caregiver for her mother and sister during their long-term illnesses. She had a mischievous sparkle to her eyes that let you know she was always up for fun and laughter. She was an active member of Mt. Mitchell Primitive Baptist Church, where she loved to sing.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Lee Dixon; her parents, Reece and Pearl Lloyd; and siblings Reba Lloyd, Frankie Lloyd, Ada Bloomer, Helen Miller, Tommy Lloyd, and Jennie Baker.

She is survived by her son, Timothy Dixon (wife Melissa); grandson, Noah Dixon; and special friend, Cindy. She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and cousins who will remember her with love and gratitude.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to the staff at The Courtyards Senior Living and Amedisys Hospice for their compassionate care.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. on Monday, June 9 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport with a funeral service to follow at 6:30 p.m., officiated by Pastor Ryan Shaffer.

A graveside service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 10 at Mount Mitchell Cemetery in Mount Carmel, TN.

In honor of Nita, the family kindly requests that those attending services wear pink—her favorite color.
