Nora Maureen (Matlock) Jones

Nora Maureen (Matlock) Jones passed away, Monday, August 3, 2026. Nora was born in Scott County Virginia to Effie Falin Matlock and Will Matlock. She graduated from Shoemaker High School in Gate City, Virginia. Nora worked as a press operator at Kingsport Press for 42 years, retiring in 1999. She married the love of her life, Bobby Ivan Jones, on December 22, 1959.

Nora was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bobby Ivan; brothers, Otis N. (Peggy) Matlock, William J. (Hannah) Matlock; sisters, Thelma (Robert) Falin, Josephine (Frank) Taylor, Betty (George) Barrett.

Survived by brother, Delmer R. (Janis) Matlock of Grand Blanc, Michigan; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. A special blessing to niece Margaret and husband, Craig Depew for helping Nora these past years.

Graveside services will be conducted on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Holston View Cemetery, with Pastor Mark Roberts officiating. Those attending are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:45 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Smoky Mountain Health Care and Hospice, 106 Ferrell Avenue #1, Kingsport, TN 37663.
