Norma Kate Almany

Norma Kate Calloway Almany, 86, passed away Wednesday, September 23rd, 2026. Born in Kingsport, she had lived in this area all of her life. She was a member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church. Norma was a skilled seamstress who loved to make quilts. She was a loving mother and a devoted Christian.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Almany; parents, Norman and Winnie Calloway; and brother, Tommy Calloway.

Norma is survived by her sons, Michael Lee Almany (Regina) of Kingsport and Daniel Keith Almany (Melony) of Gray; granddaughter, Stacey Braswell (Jonathan); grandson, Landon Almany (Sydney); great-grandchildren, Piper Grace Braswell, Sophie Kate Almany, Ella Almany, and Emerie Blair; step-grandchildren, Austin Cox, Peyton Cox, Erica Hubbard and Brenda Ramey; sister, Linda Glass (Tony), Ina Gray (Gerald), Jane Bowery and Jo Ann Houser; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, September 27th, 2026 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Blountville. The funeral service will follow with Pastors Robert Fultz and Keith Smith officiating.

Honorary Pallbearers are Leslie Almany, Johnny Harkelroad, Derrick Taylor, Mason Taylor, Austin Cox, Peyton Cox, Jonathan Braswell and Wayne Almany.
