Partha Livinia Collins Maness, 88, of Gray, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, after experiencing a prolonged illness.
Partha was born on June 4, 1937, in Bristol, Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Pearl Gullion and Charles L. Collins and the youngest of eight children.
She was preceded in death by her parents and all seven siblings.
Partha was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, William Harold Maness "Bob"; her daughters, Gail Atlas (Werner) and Wanda Reece (Scott); five grandchildren, Misty House (Jeffrey), Karla Ashley Scroth (Wayne), Devin Atlas, Matthew Reece (Paige), and Bradley Reece (Holly); and seven great-grandchildren, Eric, Xander, Eli, Hannah, Liam, Liam Elijah, and Lincoln.
She retired as an assistant manager from Walmart in 1999, after a long career in both retail and telecommunications. She was a faithful member of Blessed Hope Baptist Church and was known for her strong Christian faith, generous spirit, and love of helping others. She enjoyed quilting, cooking, crafting, knitting, and canning. She lived for making items that made others happy.
Partha will be remembered the most for her kindness, hospitality, and her deep love for family and friends. In her final days, people came from near and far to express gratitude for her friendship over the years. She loved others without expectation. She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. She will be missed dearly by all that knew her.
The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Blountville. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. with Pastor Travis Pierson officiating.
Burial will follow at Hamlett-Dobson Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Reece, Scott Reece, Mitchell Maness, Ronnie Bishop, Cole Bishop, Justin Maness, and Aaron Long.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Amedisys Hospice or Blessed Hope Baptist Church’s Youth Group.
The family would like to thank the staff at Amedisys for their support throughout this difficult time.
