Patricia Godsey

Patricia Holloman Godsey, 74, of Kingsport, Tennessee, passed away on June 6, 2026.

Born on February 10, 1952, in Aulander, North Carolina, Patricia was the daughter of the late Junious and Elaine Holloman. She graduated from Bertie County High School before earning a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

Patricia built a successful career with Eastman Chemical Company, where she served in multiple leadership roles in worldwide sales, investor relations, and procurement. It was also at Eastman that she met the love of her life, Gary Godsey. Together they shared forty-seven wonderful years of marriage, building a life centered on love, family, and hospitality. Never one to stop learning, Patricia attended culinary school after retirement simply because she loved learning and challenging herself, cooking, great food, and sharing those passions with family and friends.

Above all else, Patricia cherished her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, and proud "Grandmom" to Noah, Jonah, Maggie, Lucy, and Everett, who brought immeasurable joy to her life. She loved traveling to be with those she loved, preparing meals to share around the table, cheering on her beloved Tennessee Volunteers, Clemson Tigers, and North Carolina Tar Heels, and creating lasting memories with her family.

Patricia is survived by her devoted husband, Gary Godsey of Kingsport, Tennessee; her sons, Joseph Godsey (Maria) and Patrick Godsey (Kristin); her beloved grandchildren; her sister, June Siggins (Richard); as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Junious and Elaine Holloman, and her brother, Jerry Holloman.

The family requests anyone who wants to share stories, memories, and pictures to do so via her memorial page.

A celebration of Patricia's life will be held at a later date. Details will be shared via her memorial page once arrangements have been finalized.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Pat Summitt Foundation.

The family is grateful for the many prayers, acts of kindness, and expressions of love shown during this difficult time.
