Paul Gene Prater

Paul G. Prater, 89, of Kingsport, TN, went home to be with the Lord at 9:45 a.m. on Friday, July 19, 2019. He was born in LaFollette, TN and retired from the Department of Treasury as a supervisor. He was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Freemason and member of Campbell County Lodge #778. He was an avid golfer and fisherman who loved sports in general.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Prater; mother, Margaret Prater; two aunts, Grace and Buddy;

Paul is survived by two daughters, Pam Schmutzler and Penny Humphreys; four grandchildren, Amy Waldron, Greg Kitzmiller, Shawn Kitzmiller and Johnny Humphreys; five great-grandchildren; and special friend, Phyllis Fitzgerald.

Receiving friends and family on Sunday, July 21, 2019 from 4 - 6 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport with the service to follow at 6 p.m. with Rev. Jerry Musick, Rev. Mike Malone and Rev. Tim Price officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted on Monday, July 22, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Holston View Cemetery.
