Phyllis Joann Riner

Phyllis Joann Riner, Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Saturday April 18, 2020, at her home. Joann was born in Kingsport and lived here her entire life.  Joann was a lifetime member of Long Island Evangelical Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. J.C. “Jake” Riner; parents, Stonewall Jackson and Lucy Pearl Jones; 2 sisters and 5 brothers.

Surviving are her two daughters, Rhonda and Daniel Jayne, Donna and David Collette; three grandchildren Conner Collette, Jacob Jayne, Abbey Jayne and Chloe Collette; one step granddaughter Danielle Jayne; three step grandchildren Haley, Brae and Jase; one sister Carolyn English and husband Jerry; one brother Ferrell Jones and wife Patty; uncle, Robert “Bob” White; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; two special neighbors Marty Carton and Lenore Hylemon

Private graveside services will be held Wednesday April 22, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. at Oak Hill Memorial Park.

Due to circumstances surrounding COVID19 and consideration of the health of the family and that of the public, services will be private.
