Richard "Junior" Dawson

Richard “Junior” Dawson, 85, of Fall Branch, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at his home. Junior was born in Greene County where he had lived his entire life. He was an electrician working for more than 30 years at Eastman. Junior was a member of Bethany Freewill Baptist Church and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Junior enjoyed doing farm work and loved his family.

Junior was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Elva Dawson; and brother, Terry Dawson.

Survivors include his wife, Tiny Dawson; children, Melissa “Missy” Puckett, Richie Dawson (Felicia Metcalf) and Ashley Grills (Daniel); nine grandchildren; brother, Lloyd Dawson; sisters, Jane Dickerson, Patty Smith and Reba Salyers; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 16, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Fall Branch.

Graveside services will be conducted on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Bethany Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Roger Free officiating.
