Richard "Rick" L. Gray

Richard “Rick” L. Gray, 65, of Kingsport, Tennessee passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2026 at Holston Valley Medical Center. Born on December 16, 1960 to Leon and Anna Louise Gray, he had resided all of his life in Kingsport. Richard was a 1979 graduate of Dobyns Bennett High School and employed by Citi.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Louise Gray.

Richard is survived by his father, Leon Gray; partner of 22 years, Paula Keith; daughter, Christy Robinson (Ben); sister, Lisa Snapp (Ed); special granddaughters, Haley and Emma Robinson; nephews, Josh Snapp (Carrie) and Caleb Snapp; great-nieces, Layla and Ginessa Tolley and extended family, Mandy and Jody Flanary, Michael and Hannah Keith; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. with Pastor Alan Buckles and Rev. Ed Clevinger officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at Hamlett Dobson Memorial Park, Blountville.

Pallbearers will be Josh Snapp, Jody Flanary, Gary Gray, Roger Gray, Aaron Helbert, Ben Robinson, and Matt Lawson. Caleb Snapp, Jerald Williams and Ed Snapp will serve as honorary pallbearers.
