Rick Castor

Rick Castor, 79 of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 27, 2023. Rick was born in Cambridge, OH, and spent most of his life in Greenville, SC, then retired to Kingsport. He had a great love for music; beginning  by playing the piano at the age of 5.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Jane Castor; sister, Linda Pannell; and friend of many years, Larry Vleminckx.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Eula Castor; three daughters, Kristina Castor, Ashley Cantrill-Mosley, and Ellen Armstrong; seven grandchildren, Stephanie Sturbois, Kyle Sturbois, Joshua Cantrill, Jessica Melton, Jordan Melton, Ryder Armstrong and Avery Armstrong.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 2, 2023 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. at Oak Hill Memorial Park with Pastor Chris Alford officiating.

Pallbearers will be Carroll Poole, Kyle Sturbois, Joshua Cantrill, Brian Wham, Brian Vleminckx, Jacob Reed and Ryder Armstrong.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
