“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith.”       - 2 Timothy 4:7

Robert Lee “Bob” Carter of Kingsport, Tennessee, went home to be with the Lord on May 27, 2026. While his passing leaves a profound emptiness in our hearts, we take comfort in knowing he is at peace and reunited with his loving wife.

Bob proudly served his country in the United States Air Force as part of the Airborne Communications Squadron. He was honored for his dedication and skill in establishing emergency communications during vital search and rescue missions. Later, he attended East Tennessee State University and retired from Eastman Chemical Company after serving many years of dedicated service.

Bob was an avid Vols, Celtics and Dallas Cowboys fan. He was a devoted father and Papaw to his two grandsons. He loved spending time, laughing, singing and making sweet memories with his family. He was strong in his faith and that was the foundation of his life.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Alma Elizabth Taylor Carter; his parents, Henry and Clara Carter; his sisters, Dorothy Goins and Janice Carter; Brothers, Kenneth and Glen Carter.

Bob is survived by his daughter, Robin Ricker and husband Todd; his grandsons, Devin Ricker and wife, Leilani and Sean Ricker and wife, Lauren; special nephew, Kenny Carter.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Mhel Pelletier for her compassionate care, love and comfort given to Bob. Always bringing him joy and a smile.

A private military service will be held at a later date.
