Robert Edward Pratt

Robert Edward Pratt went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at the V.A. Mountain Home in Johnson City. Born in Hawkins County, he has lived in this area most of his life. Robert proudly served his country in the U. S. Air Force during the Vietnam War where he attained the rank of Sargent. Robert spent most of his career working at Eastman with several contractors in pipefitting and instrumentation. He also enjoyed studying cars; their schematics and attributes, as well as being a fan of aviation. Robert regularly attended church, worshiping his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Robert enjoyed taking road trips, mapping out his route and taking in the experience. It brings the family great comfort that his final trip was to his heavenly home.

Mr. Pratt was preceded in death by his parents, William Bruce and Gertie Parker Pratt. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Carolyn Pratt; son, Michael Pratt; daughter, Michelle Surgener and husband, Sean; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Pratt, Aiden Pratt, Madison and Emily Surgener.

A graveside service, officiated by Pastor Lennis France and Pastor Darrell Thacker, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 18, 2026, in the Garden of Solomon at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home & Memorial Park, Blountville.  Military rites will be presented by American Legion Post #3/265.
