Roy Matlock

Roy Edward Matlock, 78, of Kingsport, passed away peacefully and went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 22, 2019. Roy was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas, to Leonard and Alta Mae (Sullivan) Matlock. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves, graduated from Oklahoma State University, and later found his home in Kingsport, Tennessee. He was proud of his children and grandchildren, and especially enjoyed being a grandfather.

Roy is survived by his wife, Lois (Merrow) Matlock; daughters, Kimberly (Barry) Brown; Diana (Joseph) Presley; sons, Stephen (Tracy) Matlock; Kevin Matlock; granddaughters, Maria, Nancy, Laura Matlock, Bethany Brown and Ava Matlock; grandson, Brian Brown; brother, Burrell Matlock; sisters, Carolyn Jordan and Glenda Higginbotham; along with several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 29 from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Bible Baptist Church, 246 Hilton Street, Kingsport, Tennessee, 37663. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Walter Wagner officiating.

Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
