Ruby P. (Neeley) Rhoton

Ruby P. Rhoton, 92, of Kingsport, went home to be with her heavenly father, surrounded by her loving family. She was a Kingsport resident since 1960 and a faithful member of Browder’s Chapel for 55 years. In the past few years, she attended Purchase Ridge Church. She dedicated her life to caring for her family and friends. Ruby was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her grandchildren were the sunshine of her life. You all know who the community favorite was.

Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Emory L. Rhoton; parents, Ben and Roxie Neeley; brothers, Willie Neeley, Ray Neeley, Pat Neeley and twin babies; sisters, Edna Lane and Gladys Roberts; grandson, Aaron Bailey.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Phyllis A. Sullivan and husband, Ron, and Brenda C. Bailey and husband, Kent; grandchildren, Eric Bailey (Rita), Chris Helton (Wendy), Leslie Williams (Scott), Patrick Sullivan (Brittany); great-grandchildren, Kaytlynn, Sierra, Emily, Shay, Haley (Conner), Myrikal, Malacki, Liam, Drew and Kensy; great great-granddaughter, Diana Mae Guzman; sisters, Annabelle Roberts (Roy) and Linda Holtzclaw; brother, Fred Neeley; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 13, 2025 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Jackie Frazier, Matthew Lawson and Bill Tignor officiating. Music will be provided by Sharon and Bill Owens, Eddie Roberts, Sherry Morelock, and Matthew Vanzant.

Graveside services will be held on Sunday, September 14, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Roberts Family Cemetery, Duffield, VA, off of 23 on Goode Hollow Road.

Pallbearers will be Eric Bailey, Chris Helton, Shane Holtzclaw, Robert Holtzclaw, Travis Holtzclaw, Shane Rhoton, Patrick Sullivan, Dusty Holtzclaw, and Mike Light.

The family will also receive friends at 5 p.m. on Friday, September 12, 2025, at Ruby’s home.
