Ruth T. McMurray

Ruth T. McMurray, 93, of Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 29, 2018 at her residence. She was a member of Good Shepherd Baptist Church. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother. She liked to read the Bible and search word books.

She is survived by daughter, Patsy Dodson and husband, Jack; sons, Clifford McMurray and wife, Jackie, and David McMurray and wife, Connie; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and two due in September; sisters, Dorothy Booher, and Betty Smith; and several nieces and nephews.

The family extends special thanks to Amedisys Hospice, Asbury Place, and Holston Valley Medical Center.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. The service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Robert Fletcher and great-grandson Preacher Hunter Bentley officiating and music by the Perry Sisters.

The graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Grandchildren and great-grandchildren will serve at pallbearers.
