Scotty Francis Blair

January 21, 1944 – March 5, 2026

Scotty Francis Blair, 82, of Kingsport, passed away Thursday, March 5, 2026. Born on January 21, 1944, Scotty was a 1962 graduate of Blountville High School. After graduation, Scotty entered the Army and was a ranger in the 101st Airborne Division. He began his career at Eastman after retiring from the Army. He was employed there for 32 years. In his free time, he enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and fishing. He could also be found watching Westerns, especially loved Gunsmoke. Scotty loved the Lord and his family greatly, and he will be deeply missed.

Scotty was preceded in death by his parents, Jasper Blair and Cecil Maude Blair; and brother, Stanley Blair.

Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Sharon Blair; son, Jeffrey Blair and wife, Leslie; grandson, Matthew Blair and significant-other, Philisha; granddaughters Sidney Blair and significant-other, Jordan Arnold; and granddaughter, Emily Laughlin; great-grandson, Silas McMurray; sister-in-law, Cheryl Blair; nephew, Shannon Blair; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 7, 2026 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Barry Reed officiating.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, March 9, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. at Hermon UMC Cemetery, with Military Honors by Posts 3/265.

Pallbearers will be Matt Blair, Shannon Blair, Michael White, Dan Casteel, Brian Doran, Jordan Arnold and Kevin Collins. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Dowel Snapp, Cecil Lawson and Kenneth Blair.
