Shirley Marshall

Shirley Marshall, 81, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Friday, September 25, 2026. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.

Shirley was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and mother-in-law. Her greatest joy was her family. She treasured the time she shared with them. She will be remembered for the love she gave, the memories she created, and the special place she held in the hearts of those who knew her.

Shirley is survived by her loving children, Stephanie Meade and husband Eddie, Lisa Ramey and husband Roy, and David Marshall and fiancée Jamie Hutchins; grandchildren, Joshua and Brock Meade, Jamie Marshall, and Brittany Hutchins; and her sisters, Virgie Ferrell and Francis Jenkins and husband Bob. 

Shirley was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James (Jim) Marshall.

She leaves behind a lifetime of love and memories that will forever be cherished by her family. Though her passing leaves an emptiness that cannot be filled, her love will continue to live on through the family she loved so dearly.

Shirley will be forever loved, forever remembered, and forever missed.

The family will receive friends from 5pm – 7pm on Thursday, October 1, 2026 at Hamlett Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. A service will follow at 7pm with Pastor Troy Daily officiating. A graveside service will be conducted at 11am on Friday, October 2, 2026 at Church Hill Memory Gardens.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Rest peacefully, Mom. We love you and will carry your memory in our hearts until we meet again.
