Sue Thomas

Sue Thomas, 77, of Gate City, went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 31, 2026. Born in Kingsport, she was a 1968 graduate of Gate City High School. Sue had retired from the Kingsport Press. She attended Cowans Branch Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rudolph and Stella Calhoun; two infant sisters; two sisters, June and Kathy; and three brothers, Roby, Hamilton, and Scottie.

Sue is survived by her husband, Eddie Thomas; son, Brian Thomas; two sisters, Martha and Anita; brother, R.S.; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at Calhoun Cemetery with Rev. Wayne McCarty officiating.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
