Susan Elaine Cooper

Susan Elaine Cooper, age 66, of Bristol, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, July 6, 2026, at Holston Rehab in Kingsport. Born in Bristol, she has lived in this area most of her life. A graduate of Sullivan Central High School, Susan was an active member of Crossroads Christian Church in Gray. She was a devoted wife and mother; she loved her pets, her flowers and spending time in her flower garden.

Preceding Ms. Cooper in death were her parents Jay Steven McClain and Angeleen Hope Christley and one brother, Robert Lee McClain.

Those left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 44 years, Toby Cooper; son, Samuel Cooper; brothers, Larry, Mike and Jim McClain; one sister, Barb Newton; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at Crossroads Christian Church, 1300 Sunset Drive, Gray, Tennessee. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. officiated by Minister Clint Andrews and Minister Evan Wolfe. Graveside services will be held on Monday, July 13, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. in the Garden of Solomon located at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home & Memorial Park, Blountville, Tennessee.
