Tara Leigh-Ann Parker Dockery

Tara Leigh-Ann Parker Dockery, 38, of Kingsport, TN, passed away unexpectedly after a brief decline in health on Thursday, September 25, 2014. Born in Kingsport on November 22, 1975, Tara was the daughter of Charles C. and Linda Wood Parker, Jr. She graduated from Dobyns-Bennett High School in 1994 and worked at Proffitt's and Belk for several years. She had attended Roane State Community College and was currently attending college part-time in Maryville, TN, where she was one week away from receiving her Dental Assistant Certification. Tara had a very outgoing and loving personality and was as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside. Tara was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church. Tara enjoyed listening to music, reading, watching movies, and most of all spending time with her three beautiful children.
Tara was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, James D. and June Wood Rose; and her paternal grandparents, Charles and Mary Parker, Sr.
Left to cherish her memory in addition to her parents are her children, Tristan Todd Dockery, Tyler Jason Dockery, Blakely Leigh-Ann Dockery of Knoxville; one sister, Tammy Parker Maupin and her husband Jimmy Maupin of Kingsport; two nieces, Ashley Maupin Marshall and her husband Tim Marshall, Jordan Mackenzie Maupin; and one nephew Logan Preston Maupin all of Kingsport; a special Aunt and Uncle, Sandy ("Mama Kitten") and Charles Lynn Roach of Kingsport; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins; special friend, Brandon Guy of Oak Ridge; and the Father of her children, Jason Todd Dockery of Knoxville.
The family will receive friends from noon until 2 pm on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport, TN. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm with Pastor Wayne Baker officiating and music provided by Larry Walsh.
The graveside service will be conducted immediately following the service at Oak Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the charity of your choice in memory of Tara.
