Thomas Andrew Grogg, 93, of Kingsport, passed away from this life on Friday, January 19, 2007 from an affliction in his body.
Born in Sullivan County, he had been a resident of Kingsport all of his life. Mr. Grogg retired from Tennessee Eastman Company after 43 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Beulah Harless Grogg; his parents, Sam and Melissa Grogg; brother, Sevier Grogg; and two sisters, Beulah Haynes and Thelma Venable.
Surviving are his daughters, Mildred Carter and husband, William, Sue Crawford, and Hope Thompson and husband, Jack; sons, Fred Grogg and wife, Betty, Doyle Grogg and wife, Connie, all of Kingsport; eleven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Juanita Calloway, Oliver Springs, TN, Georgia Calloway, and Olivette Fletcher, both of Kingsport; brothers, Lewis Grogg of Peoria, Arizona, Damos Grogg and wife, Ramona of Johnson City, Samuel Grogg and wife, Margaret of Blountville; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 4 pm. Sunday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport.
Services will follow at 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with Bishop G. D. Peters and Rev. Thomas R. Benton officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at East Lawn Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Verlin L. Grogg, Justin Gray, Andy Cody, Chris Cody, Bucky Carter, Jeff Wagers, Nard Gibson, and Dillon Gibson.
