Thomas "Tom" Besco

Tom Besco, of Kingsport, went to be with be Lord on Sunday, April 19, 2026. Born in Portsmouth, Ohio, he was a graduate of Shawnee State University where he received his degree in Electromechanical engineering and then put his talents to use in the steel industry for 30 years. Upon retirement, he used his experience to teach the next generation as a community college instructor at ETSU/RCAM. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Blountville. Tom could fix anything and was a loving husband, father, and brother.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Finley and Clara Besco; and brother, Finley “Bud” Besco.

Tom is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Patti Besco; son, Jeff Besco; and daughter, Julie Besco.

A private family committal will be held.

Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. on Friday, April 24, 2026, at First Baptist Church of Blountville with Pastor Adam Sells and Pastor Clay Austin officiating. The family will receive friends at the church following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Blountville or Sullivan County Fire Department and EMS.
