Vauda Beatrice ?Bea? Shankel Taylor, 86, Kingsport, went to be with the Lord Saturday March 10, 2007 at Wexford House following a lengthy illness.

Born in Blountville, she had resided her entire life in Sullivan County. She was a loving and respected member of Bethel Apostolic Church and enjoyed volunteering for the Youth of Dogwood Terrace, where she was also the chaplain for the tenant?s organization.

Bea was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fate and Laura Shankel; one brother, Clarence Shankel; two sisters, Ola Robinette and Grace VanHuss; ex-husband, Harry W. Taylor; and two grandsons, Darrell G. Hendrix and Chris D. Taylor.

Surviving are three daughters, Doris W. Hendrix and husband, Roy, Manchester, TN, Wilma H. Ray and husband, Don, Kingsport, and Sharron L. Perkins and husband, Jack, Fall Branch; one son, Robert P. Taylor and wife, Pam, Sarasota, FL; ten grandchildren, Keith Hendrix, Kandahar Afghanistan, Huston A. Isley, Kingsport, Jim Isley III and wife, Angelina, Kingsport, Timothy Isley and wife, Joann, Kingsport, Daniel Simpson, Kingston, TN, Nathaniel Simpson and wife, Priscela, Gray, TN, Doanna L. Ray and fiancé, Brian Posey, Blountville, Contessia Page and husband, Greg, Church Hill, Jack Perkins III, Fall Branch, TN, and Julia Taylor, Germany; ten great-grandchildren; one sister, Pearl Castle, Kingsport; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Homes, Kingsport.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Garland Tipton officiating. Entombment will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park.

Memorials may be given to Bethel Apostolic Church, c/o Youth Ministry, 1820 Pinebrook Drive, Kingsport, TN 37660.

Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
