Vernon Henry Kistner, Jr

V. Henry Kistner, Jr., 69, of Surgoinsville, formerly of Kingsport, died suddenly Saturday evening, July 14, 2012.

A lifetime resident of Sullivan County and a graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School, Henry was the owner/operator of Henry's Motorcycle Sales until his retirement.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon Henry "Red" Kistner and Frances Roller Kistner Krantz.

Survivors are his loving wife, Betty, Surgoinsville; son, Vernon Henry Tray Kistner, III, Kingsport; an aunt and several cousins. His dog Blondie and his bird Rabbi.

The family will receive friends 4-7pm Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, Kingsport. A celebration of Henry's life will follow at 7pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Homer Roller officiating. It was Henry's request to be cremated.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
